The price of the Porsche Taycan can rise considerably depending on the chosen configuration

The Porsche Taycan is already in the brand’s configurator and features an almost endless list of optional extras at imposing prices.

The motoring world has been shaken up by the official unveiling of the new Porsche Taycan, the first 100% electric model from the brand based in Stuttgart. This new creation from Porsche has been launched with two versions: Turbo and Turbo S.

The fact that Porsche has named this electric model “Turbo” makes little real sense, since under its bonnet there is only one electric motor. However, this does not mean that the Porsche Taycan is just another electric car; its performance is better than that of many supercars.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo has a power output of 500 kW, that is, the equivalent of 680 CV, so it reaches 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and has a range of 450 kilometres. On the other hand, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S has a power output of 561 kW, equivalent to 761 CV, so it takes 2.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h and has a range of 412 kilometres.

However, the main news is that the brand has already added the new Porsche Taycan to its configurator. We therefore already know the complete prices of the Porsche Taycan, so if the base price of 155,648 euros already frightens you, keep reading, because we can already tell you that the list of options is extensive and they are not exactly a bargain.

These are the prices of the Porsche Taycan

Precios Porsche Taycan It is worth noting that as soon as you choose one of the versions, that is, the Porsche Taycan Turbo (from 155,648 euros) or Porsche Taycan Turbo S (from 1,658 euros), a first invoice appears. This is for the charging points available: if you choose the “Porsche Mobile Charger Connect” you have to pay 1,102 euros, and if you opt for the pack that includes a home charging point, the price rises to 1,658 euros.

Next step, colours: we have a choice of up to 9 shades at no cost, although if we want the special colour “carmine red”, we will have to pay another 2,420 euros. On the other hand, there are 5 wheel designs: 2 in 20 inches (the first come as standard and the second cost 557 euros) and three in 21 inches with prices ranging from 3,280 euros to 7,073 euros if you choose the carbon fibre finishes.

Inside, the Porsche Taycan comes with black leather upholstery as standard, although you can choose a two-tone option in beige/black or red/black for 484 euros. There are three other fabric designs and, if you are a connoisseur, we can choose one of the options of what the brand calls “Club Leather” upholstery, but not before paying between 2,245 and 2,729 euros.

Given that almost everything costs money on the Porsche Taycan, it is surprising that you can choose between comfort seats or sport seats without paying any difference. Don’t worry, you pay for other options, such as the “Sport Design Pack” which adds a more aggressive design and for which you will have to pay no less than 4,719 euros.

Too many optional extras

Precios Porsche Taycan Once we start digging through the Porsche configurator, it is hard to understand why some items such as electrically folding mirrors (303 euros) or parking assistance (1,634 euros) are not standard on a car that costs more than 150,000 euros in its most basic version. We must also consider that anyone buying a Porsche Taycan is unlikely to look closely at the price of the options, so this may even be a clever move by Porsche to squeeze more money out of each unit sold.

As for accessories to further improve its dynamics, there is the PDCC (electronic chassis control) for 3,328 euros, or the rear-wheel steering axle for 2,372 euros. If we want to add ceramic brakes, we will have to pay no less than 6,897 euros, and if we fit the “Sport Chrono pack“, we will need to set aside another 1,132 euros.

The matrix LED headlights cost 478 euros, and other superfluous (though tempting) items such as the fixed panoramic roof or the passenger display screen come dangerously close to 2,000 euros. If you are a music lover and want a spectacular sound system, Burmester can take care of it, but not before you have paid 4,665 euros.

You can go to Germany to pick up your Porsche Taycan, but it will cost you money

Precios Porsche Taycan Finally, we were surprised that Porsche offers the option of collecting the car in Leipzig or at the brand’s factory in Stuttgart (where production has just started today). Anyone would think of making the trip because it works out cheaper, but nothing could be further from the truth: the first option costs 1,344 euros and the second 1,029 euros. Moreover, you will need to take several days’ holiday, because with a range of close to 400 kilometres, driving down to Spain could take a fortnight.

We have followed the same process with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which has a starting price of 189,528 euros. As well as having more power, it comes with more standard equipment, so we would not be forced to spend so much on extras (although don’t worry, going well beyond 200,000 euros is practically guaranteed).

So, we hope the prices of the Porsche Taycan have not given you a heart attack. We hope even more that they do not seem too high to you, because that would mean you can afford it. If that is your case, we recommend you run to the first Porsche dealership you can think of.
