The production Rimac Concept Two will arrive in 2020

Rimac already has nearly everything ready to unveil the Concept Two in world premiere, an electric hyper-sports car that will come close to 2,000 CV.

Electric hypercars are poised to dethrone those that rely on combustion to deliver outputs above 1,000 CV, with Rimac’s offspring a clear example of this. And the Croatian firm is about to launch the production version of the Concept Two, a model that arrives to break with everything established and demonstrate the power of electric cars in this demanding and elitist sector. To prove it, Rimac has shared a video showing its second vehicle displaying a small glimpse of its capabilities.

Rimac intends to offer many innovations with the Concept Two, a model that is far more than speed and power. Behind that demanding engineering work lies a technology within reach of very few and that will mark a turning point in the automotive sector.

It was at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show that Rimac gave us a preview of what its next generation of electric hypercars would be. At the previous edition, the Croatian house again stoked our anticipation with a second prototype; but it will finally be in 2020 when Rimac unveils the production version of its Concept Two, a model that promises to become one of the fastest vehicles on the face of the earth.

The brand is about to complete the testing phase of this second offspring, which, to be more precise, will end early next year. During this long and demanding process, Rimac has built a total of 17 prototypes, which have been subjected to the most adverse situations with the aim of delivering a reliable product capable of meeting the demands of its future owners.

It is no wonder Rimac takes the development of the Concept Two so seriously, especially considering the level of performance it will offer. The ferocity of electric vehicles is well known thanks to their instant torque delivery, but it goes up a notch when we speak of a vehicle capable of producing a staggering 1,914 CV and 2,300 Nm of torque, figures that allow 0 to 100 km/h to happen in under two seconds.

For now we do not know whether these performance figures will change in the production version, but Rimac is obsessed with building the fastest vehicle in the world. With this premise, we will have to stay very alert to the imminent Geneva Motor Show, an event at which the Croatian firm will present its second vehicle and where it will try to checkmate brands such as Koenigsegg or Bugatti. Let the war continue.
