The RS4 Avant returns, the more practical version of the sports car
Audi has unveiled the new RS4 Avant at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With a V6 engine and 450 CV of power, it will be available this autumn from 79,800 euros

Audi has unveiled the new generation of the RS4 Avant at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The most practical version of the RS4 now arrives with a 2.9-litre V6 TFSI twin-turbo engine that produces 450 CV of power and 600 Nm of torque. The new RS4 Avant will reach dealerships in early 2018, although Audi will open orders from this autumn, and its price starts at 79,800 euros.
The new Audi RS4 Avant comes equipped with quattro all-wheel drive through an optimised 8-speed automatic gearbox that integrates the Audi Drive Select driving modes system. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, which can be increased to 280 km/h with the optional RS Dynamic package.
Despite its high power output, the German brand claims that the new Audi RS4 Avant has a consumption of just 8.8 l/100 km, and emits 199 g/km of CO
2.
In terms of styling, the Audi RS4 Avant stands out for its new, sportier front end with larger air intakes, a diffuser integrated into the rear bumper, and wheel arches widened by 30 mm with new wheels of up to 20 inches (the standard ones are 19). In addition, the Nogaro blue colour chosen by the German brand for the presentation is a nod to the shade of the original RS4 Avant from 1999.
Inside, the new RS4 Avant comes equipped with sports seats
, a leather steering wheel and the already famous Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, customised by Audi Sport for the occasion. Fitted with the standard RS sport suspension, the RS4 Avant sits 7 mm lower than the basic A4.
The details are meticulously finished, and the model includes the RS badge on the floor mats and seats, although its design can be personalised by the driver through the brand’s Exclusive programme.
