The SEAT León FR adds the 130 PS 1.5 TSI petrol engine to its range
The SEAT León has been adapted to its customers’ preferences and now offers the 1,500 cc, 130 PS TSI engine, also paired with the FR trim

SEAT’s medium-term future is in doubt, due to factors that directly affect it, such as a considerable drop in sales (in July they fell by as much as 45%), sitting on the same rung as Škoda (which has not seen its sales suffer), and the great rise and acceptance that CUPRA has enjoyed since its arrival. Although it is the sporty brand, it also offers a wide range of engines, which has pushed SEAT into second place.
For the moment, SEAT’s future is secured until the end of this decade, but beyond that it is uncertain. This does not stop SEAT from continuing to innovate and look for solutions to its battered present. To that end, it has unveiled new features for one of its star models, the León. In both its hatchback body and its Sportstourer estate version, the León can now be specified with the 1.5 TSI 130 PS petrol engine when chosen in the FR trim.

Last summer SEAT took the opportunity to restructure and simplify the León range into two trims that are complemented by four equipment packs. That is when this 1.5 TSI 130 PS engine also arrived, paired with the Style trim, and now it is also available for the FR trim. Its output of 130 PS, together with a torque of 200 Nm, makes it capable of handling any everyday situation. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and features the Active Cylinder Management system, which deactivates two of the four cylinders depending on demand. This gives a combined consumption of between 5.3 and 6.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of between 124 and 139 g/km.

As I mentioned earlier, this engine will also now be available with the FR trim. Below are some of the features included depending on the pack you choose:
- FR XS
- Digital Cockpit with 10.25-inch screen
- Front and rear parking sensors
- Three-zone climate control
