The Seat León SC at the Barcelona Motor Show

Seat unveiled at the Barcelona Motor Show the León SC, one of the hopes in which the Spanish brand has placed all its confidence to increase its sales volume. It joins the recently launched five-door version, with a completely new design built from scratch, and features its own design details, such as the rear window, which is more sloped than on the five-door.
The entrance to the Seat stand was guarded by this handsome example, and we immediately noticed that the new Seat models offer much more than their predecessors. The proof is in the cabin, with a renewed interior, new seats that are lower and sportier, and a dashboard with small details that are always welcome, such as a large storage space for small objects and the connection points for multimedia devices.
Continuing with the interior, Seat has fitted its first touchscreen with proximity sensor, which can be operated simply by bringing a finger close to the screen. Other details are better finished, such as the air conditioning vents, the multimedia controls, and even the pedals, which are more streamlined. In short, Seat has taken great care and achieved high quality in the design of this León’s new interior.
The León SC is the first Seat to use the MQB platform of the VAG Group and will be available in two trim levels, Reference and Style, as well as the upcoming FR versions and the long-awaited Cupra. It is more compact than the previous generation, but offers more interior space, especially in the rear seats.

In Spain, there will be nine engine options: five petrol and four diesel, almost all of them with Start&Stop, except the entry-level 1.6 diesel. The range starts with two 1.2 TSI engines producing 86 and 105 CV, the 1.4 TSI with 122 and 140 CV, and the 1.8 TSI with 180 CV. Among the diesels, the 1.6 and 2.0 TDI engines will be offered, ranging from 90 to 184 CV. The transmission choices are also varied: five- and six-speed manual gearboxes, and six- and seven-speed units in the case of the DSG.
The new three-door body of the new Spanish compact will reach dealerships at the end of this month of May.
Regarding other León versions and their novelties, we learned at the show that Seat is about to launch shortly the Ecomotive version with CO2 emissions of 85 g/km.
