The six track records of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid boasts of being the fastest car in its category, and it does so with six fast laps on six different circuits.
For all those who still don’t believe how sporty a hybrid saloon like the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid can be just by looking at its performance figures, Porsche has not hesitated to turn to that unquestionable judge that is the racetrack. And it’s not so easy to convince those who are not unconditional fans of the brand of how fast this four-door hybrid saloon can be. A format quite the opposite of what you would associate with a model of Porsche only a few years ago.

Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid: more than the Turbo
Of course, on closer inspection, this version is even more than a Porsche Panamera Turbo. Let’s not forget that it has 680 CV of total power, 130 CV more than the Turbo. And, by the way, with the advantages of plug-in hybrid propulsion, which allows 50 km of range in electric mode. It would take us off on a tangent, but there’s one fact worth noting. It matches the Panamera Turbo’s equipment by adding the options that come as standard on the Turbo S E-Hybrid, which also doesn’t pay the Registration Tax since its CO2 emissions stand at 69 g/km. And it turns out the hybrid is not only more powerful, uses less fuel and goes faster… but it’s also about 6,000 euros cheaper! I’m sure you’re wondering what sense the Turbo version makes now that the hybrid exists.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid alongside another Porsche that also set track records, the 918 Hybrid, “king” of the Nürburgring in its category for several years.
When we know the answer, we’ll tell you. In the meantime, let’s get back to what concerns us. And in case you didn’t know, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, with its nearly 2.4 tonnes of weight, is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. To give you an idea, the new Porsche 911 GT3 is only 2 tenths faster. A benchmark that will help you understand the six FIA-certified fast laps of the Panamera on track.

They are not absolute records, but they do allow the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid to boast of being the fastest 4-door saloon in its category at Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Kyalami, Buddh and Losail. At the wheel, always the same driver, Lars Kern, champion of the Porsche Cup Super Sport in Germany in 2010. And until it was taken from him by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, he also held the lap record at the Nürburgring for production cars with the 911 GT2 RS.
