The new electric SUV from the Polish brand has presented a new software update that improves battery energy management and other elements.

Skoda Enyaq Sportline Iv (10)

The Škoda Enyaq iV has just received a software update that manages battery charging and performance. The update is available for all vehicles sold so far and will be rolled out shortly, so owners of units already sold will not have to do anything to receive these improvements and enhance the performance of their car. It is called ME3, and we are going to review all the advantages this software brings.

The battery control is just one of the functions improved with this update. Work has also been done on the access to the infotainment system, the control of the Digital Cockpit and the Head-Up Display. Škoda’s online services have also been improved, and it is easier to access them.

Battery improvement

The new software includes a “battery maintenance” charging mode. With this mode activated, the battery will always charge only up to 80%, allowing its service life to be longer. If the driver wants the battery to be fully charged, they can remove this restriction and charge the battery to its maximum.

The charging menu of the infotainment system has also been improved, where stops can be scheduled for charging along the journey.

Range has also improved, since the temperature control switches on at lower temperatures, which allows it to work at the optimum level for longer and thus manage energy more efficiently.

Shorter charging time

The update also brings improvements in charging times. If a direct current (DC) connection is used, the new software allows fast charging at a power of up to 120 kW for the 62 kWh battery and up to 135 kW for the 82 kWh battery. This means charging can be completed in 35 minutes.

With a 50 kW charging station, the charging time is around 55 minutes.

Improvements in instrument display and new driving mode

The software updates other elements of the model, such as greater sharpness and clarity on the Head-Up Display and the Digital Cockpit, as well as adding a new driving mode. Overall, comfort and the driving experience are more satisfying for drivers.
