The strategy of BYD improves the charging infrastructure for electric cars

The strategy of BYD is not only about manufacturing and selling electric vehicles, but also about building and developing fast-charging stations.

One of the things that worries users who do not dare to venture into electric mobility the most is the infrastructure for charging batteries. That is why manufacturers make an effort to create solutions that allow users to charge their electric cars with ease. But the real reason they invest in this kind of equipment is to be able to sell more electric cars.

This is the case of BYD, a Chinese brand that is moving comfortably with electric cars, which has prepared an emergency plan that has allowed its users to access a charging station more easily. But they also want their electric models to keep selling, and to do so they improve charging conditions by installing more fast-charging points.

In more or less a month, BYD has reached 5,000 active charging points. What proves this action is a very aggressive installation strategy designed to meet the needs of its users in China. BYD is manufacturing electric cars, but it also takes care of battery manufacturing, develops charging technology and the infrastructure where its advances can be used.

Part of BYD’s strategy is aimed at placing chargers at strategic points, where they can provide an efficient and practical fast-charging network. Not all chargers are the same; they have different technical characteristics. But that matters little, since the goal is to have a network that serves all electric vehicle users.

With more charging stations, there are more places where you can recharge the battery. Fewer queues and, if the technology is fast charging, you spend less time waiting to charge, so the difference with combustion-engine cars is considerably reduced.

Having a charging network run by the brand itself also makes recharging easier. By using native systems, the process of access, charging and payment becomes simpler. BYD’s strategy will continue over the coming years, and it will seek to grow in other countries and even create synergy with operators in those countries to keep growing. And not only growing in the electric car market, but also in installing charging infrastructure to increase its presence in the international market.
