The Tesla Model S sent to the Nürburgring could already have snatched the record from the Porsche Taycan
Elon Musk has already sent a Tesla Model S to the Nürburgring to snatch the title from the Porsche Taycan, and everything points to it having happened.

Elon Musk is a man who has generated a great many opinions about himself since the early days of Tesla. You may like him or not, but I think we can all agree that he is a genuine genius when it comes to selling his products and stoking the electric vehicle war. And Mr Musk has wanted to add more fuel to the fire after Porsche claimed that its new Taycan was the fastest electric car around the Nürburgring. Not for Elon. The CEO of Tesla posted a few days ago a tweet saying that very soon a Model S would be dominating the Green Hell and, as a promise is a promise, that is exactly what has happened.
For the moment, very little data has been confirmed about these test mules that are running at full speed around the Ring circuit. But at first glance we can see how the engineers at Tesla have applied certain modifications that make the Model S not only more aerodynamic, but also much faster.
Let us remember that the Porsche Taycan managed to set a time of 7:42 minutes, opening a new category within the Nürburgring: electric performance saloons. But no, Musk was not going to sit idly by in the face of this outrage against his beloved company, which is why a Model S is running non-stop around the German circuit.

Wider wheel arches, specific wheels and a more prominent rear spoiler are the only magic tricks this souped-up version of the American saloon has shown us. The P100D variant of the Model S claims the position of most powerful with 613 CV and 980 Nm of torque, figures that are overshadowed by the 761 CV and 1,050 Nm of torque of the Taycan.
But Tesla will also have taken the opportunity to increase the power of its favourite child, causing it to comfortably exceed the 700 CV threshold. With this premise, we would be looking at a vehicle capable of rivalling the Porsche Taycan Turbo S more fairly and stoking the war currently taking place between electric cars.

For now, rumours suggest that this mysterious Model S has managed to snatch the record from the Taycan by twenty seconds. If so, we are sure that Porsche will not stand aside and will want to recover what is its own, which could lead to the arrival of a supposed Taycan GT3, much faster and more radical than the current Turbo S. Time will tell.
