The Tesla Model X and the Audi SQ7 go head to head on video. Who will win?

The premium SUV segment has several contenders, but the Tesla Model X is probably one of the most revolutionary, given its instant acceleration and wide range without emitting a single gram of CO₂.

On the other side are its German rivals, and among them the Audi SQ7. In the following video we can see a direct showdown between the two SUVs, and judging by the numbers, the contest could not be more evenly matched.

The American model, the Tesla Model X 100 D, uses two electric motors that together deliver 416 CV of power and 660 Nm of torque. According to Tesla, the SUV reaches 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, while its weight is 2,450 kg.

For its part, the Audi SQ7 has a four-litre V8 diesel engine producing 435 CV of power and 900 Nm of torque. The German vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and weighs 2,330 kg. Unlike the Tesla Model X, the Audi SQ7 has powerful ceramic brakes, an element that should give it a significant advantage when braking.
