Model Y Tesla Electric Cars SUV
The Tesla Model Y Performance is now on sale in Spain and the rest of Europe
Tesla has finally put on sale the most radical version of the redesigned Model Y, with significant improvements in both performance and equipment compared with the same version of the previous generation of this electric SUV.
The wait is over. If you have been counting down the days to order the Performance version of the new Tesla Model Y, you can now do so if you live in Europe. Following the market launch of the lower versions of the Model Y at the beginning of the year, the high-performance version of the most popular SUV from the North American manufacturer is finally on sale in the European market.
In Spain, it is now possible to order the Performance version of the Model Y on the manufacturer’s website, with an expected delivery date of next September. Its price starts at 61,990 euros, to which 980 euros for destination and documentation charges must be added, bringing the final price to 62,980 euros.

At this price we will get a unit of the Model Y Performance in Stealth Grey, the only paint colour offered at no extra cost, with a black interior and 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 wheels, which come as standard. In terms of software, the vehicle will come with Basic Autopilot, as usual.
Optional extras that increase the final price of the vehicle
If our budget is somewhat more generous, we can add, when configuring the vehicle, some of the options the manufacturer offers on its website. Tesla offers five additional paint colours with different prices for each: Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black and Deep Blue Metallic, which carry a surcharge of 1,300 euros. Meanwhile, Mercury Silver and Ultra Red require payment of an additional 2,600 euros. As is customary, Tesla also offers the vehicle’s interior in white for an extra 1,050 euros.
Regarding the differences with the immediately lower version, the Long Range All-Wheel Drive, the first thing we should highlight is that this new Performance version costs 9 thousand euros more. Paying this premium gets us a vehicle that offers better performance and is capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.5 seconds, compared with the 4.8 seconds the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version needs to reach that speed.

Additionally, and according to the manufacturer, the Model Y Performance features a revised chassis, adaptive suspension and new exclusive driving modes. In terms of design, it also stands out for its redesigned front bumper, which gives it a more sporty look, a prominent carbon-fibre rear spoiler, and a new diffuser at the lower part of the rear bumper.
New LGES cells with improved performance
Although Tesla has not provided official details about the battery pack, it is speculated that the Model Y Performance debuts new improved cells supplied by LG Energy Solution, with an estimated total usable capacity of between 82 and 84 kWh. Enough to cover up to 580 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle.

Finally, the interior of the Model Y Performance is distinguished by some carbon-fibre details, as well as new sports seats with better lumbar support and even greater leg support. Additionally, it features a slightly larger screen, with 16 inches instead of 15.4 inches, and higher resolution.
