The third-generation Nissan Qashqai is already here
Nissan has just unveiled the new Nissan Qashqai, which now reaches its third generation with many new features while retaining the essence of the previous two.

For a while we have been seeing spy shots of the new Nissan Qashqai, but now the time has come to get up close and see everything offered by one of the most popular SUVs on the Spanish market. The third generation of the Qashqai has been presented, which uses a new platform to offer a car that is completely different from the one we know, yet at the same time provides continuity with it.
The CMF-C platform of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi alliance makes it possible to forget about diesel engines and focus on mobility with a petrol engine, supported by a 12-volt mild hybrid system. This acts as a mobility aid, assisting at start-off and providing extra thrust at certain moments. It also has a engine braking function, but only in versions equipped with the Xtronic automatic gearbox.
When the brake is applied and the speed drops below 18 km/h, the electric motor acts to hold back the engine and store the resulting energy in the 12-volt battery. When the accelerator is pressed again, that energy delivers 6 Nm of additional torque for 20 seconds, helping the combustion engine restart the car.

New engine
The new generation of the Nissan Qashqai is powered by the 1.3 DiG-T petrol engine, which will be available in two configurations. The first offers 140 CV, while the second reaches 158 CV. Both options will be paired with the 12-volt mild hybrid system.

The Xtronic automatic gearbox is only available with the more powerful engine, so that is the one that delivers the greatest performance in the vehicle. This engine is also the one that enjoys 4WD traction, making it the most complete of the two.
Another option arriving later will be the so-called e-Power, debuted with the Nissan Note, but in this case consisting of a 1.5-litre engine which, together with the electric motor, achieves a total output of 190 CV.

Interior design
The instrumentation is housed in a 12.3-inch screen with different layouts to display information in a personalised way. The central 9-inch screen allows control of the infotainment system and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 10.8-inch head-up display is also available, showing all the information on the windscreen, within the driver’s line of sight.
The equipment has been improved and adds safety to driving thanks to ProPILOT with NaviLink. For example, it can keep the car in the same lane on motorways and dual carriageways, and is capable of braking or accelerating on its own if the car stops for less than three seconds.
Other safety features include the intelligent forward collision avoidance system of Nissan with predictive function and the centre airbag, which deploys between the front seats so that occupants do not collide with each other in the event of an accident.
Soon we will be able to enjoy the third generation of the Nissan Qashqai in Spain.
