The V8 of the Toyota Supra GT300 has an incredible sound
The new Toyota Supra GT300 features a V8 engine that produces an absolutely fantastic sound.
The Toyota Supra GT300 is a true race-bred machine. Its performance and dynamics are impressive. However, thanks to its incredible V8 engine, the sound it produces has become one of its best features.
This model is a racing variant of the Supra GR 2020. What makes this GT300 special is that it houses a V8 engine, something quite unusual in Japanese vehicles of this type.

As we know, the 2020 Supra (version approved for urban use) features a BMW 3.0-litre turbo six-cylinder engine producing a total of 335 CV. This engine was recently replaced by the turbocharged four-cylinder fitted to the Supra GT500.

The Japanese GT300 series gives constructors the possibility and freedom to fit all kinds of engines to these models. In this case, this “random” constructor has decided to place a magnificent V8 under its bonnet, and believe us, it sounds impressive:

The technical specifications of this engine have not been revealed. We think it may be a naturally aspirated 5.4-litre engine, similar to the one used in the Lexus RC F GT3.
The sound its engine produces is absolutely brutal and suits the dynamic bodywork of the Toyota GT300 series perfectly.
Although Toyota likes to build Supra racing cars, you can forget the idea of a production model from the company with a V8 engine. That is not going to happen, although you can fit one yourself outstandingly, as we have seen in this video.

The Supra GT300 is an absolutely exciting racing model. Its design and bodywork with such aggressive lines alone make it a true dream for enthusiasts. If it also comes with a naturally aspirated V8… well, let’s just say it’s like being “in heaven”.
