Golf Golf Variant Volkswagen Compact Range / versions
The Volkswagen Golf comes with 355 CV for the Swiss market

In the automotive industry it is quite normal for several exclusive models for certain markets to emerge from time to time. These are special cars intended to help the brand or the model itself gain ground in the different countries where these special versions are launched. Usually this happens in strong markets such as China or Japan, almost always for the large models of Premium brands. But this also happens in Europe and with more common models.
In fact, Volkswagen has commissioned ABT Sportsline to produce a new version of the Golf that is intended to be sold only to Swiss buyers who choose this very special model. To do so, on top of the base model, they have worked with the 2.0-litre turbo engine fitted to the model and raised its power to 355 CV, adding 59 CV to what it already had. They have also worked on the maximum torque, achieving a considerable 460 Nm.

The Volkswagen Golf R360S is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, a time that places it in the same range as the Ford Focus RS, with a top speed that has been increased by 15 km/h, reaching 265 km/h. A car that grows and that will face Swiss roads with power and speed to place itself above the middle range of the model and that can be enjoyed in this European country.
The gearbox does not change compared with the standard model, as it still offers the choice between the six-speed manual gearbox or the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The drivetrain also still reaches all four wheels, so this aspect does not change from the base model.
The model modified by ABT Sportsline has some aesthetic differences that testify to these changes. To stand out, it features a livery, with a stripe that runs in black across the bonnet and is also present on the sides and rear of the car. The black wheels and the identification plate bearing the R360S legend complete the look.
Only 165 units of the five-door version will be built, along with 55 of the Variant version, which Swiss buyers will be able to purchase from a price slightly above 50,000 euros.
