The Volkswagen Golf GTI Dark Shine stuns at Wörthersee 2015

During this year’s Wörthersee event, quite a few GTI models could be seen, representing the latest proposals from these brands in this type of vehicle, although some special versions can also be seen, such as this Volkswagen Golf GTI Dark Shine

Rumour has it that, although all the GTIs from the main brands can be seen at Wörthersee, the real stars of the event are the Volkswagen Golf GTI. These versions of the well-known German model are usually one of the event’s main attractions, and in 2015, the 34th edition of the event, it has been no exception. So here we have this Volkswagen Golf GTI Dark Shine, which certainly looks quite striking.

The main distinguishing feature of this model is its colour scheme. At the front it features Daytona Grey Metallic, while at the rear it has Yellow-R, which provides a very effective contrast. This two-tone theme is repeated inside, with Recaro seats that also receive this treatment and feature both colours.

The central sections of the seats are covered in black Alcantara, while the side bolsters are upholstered in black leather. To complement the upholstery and carry through this two-tone theme, the GTI logos and stitching are in the same yellow seen on the bodywork.

The steering wheel is also trimmed in black Alcantara, although it also features yellow on the spokes and stitching. This is repeated at other points on the instrument panel, giving the look the vehicle is aiming to convey.

This is an exhibition version, so it has to have something special. And that is the sound system, which is where this Golf GTI really stands out, specifically its audio equipment. It consists of 8 speakers and 3 subwoofers, capable of delivering a sound output of 3,500 watts.

This version was developed by a team of four young men and women on a Golf GTI Performance, which they worked on for nine months. They have also worked on the engine, which has become a 2.0-litre TSI unit capable of producing 390 CV and a maximum torque of 487 Nm at 4,700 rpm.
