The Volkswagen ID.UNYX is based on the Cupra Tavascan and is aimed at the Chinese market
This model, which is based on the CUPRA Tavascan, will be available in the Chinese market and will not have an international version. It will go on sale soon.

Many brands have launched some joint venture in the Chinese market in collaboration with Chinese brands. One of them is formed by Volkswagen and the Chinese manufacturer JAIC, and it is named Volkswagen Anhui. Within this brand, the Volkswagen ID.UNYX will appear, an electric SUV that will be sold in the Chinese market and that has one particularity: it is based on the well-known Cupra Tavascan.
The SUV measures 4,663 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height. The wheelbase of 2,766 mm guarantees good interior space. Its exterior design is reminiscent of the CUPRA Tavascan, although it has been developed to offer differentiation that brings it closer to the ID family of Volkswagen. To this end, the front features sharp headlights and an LED light bar connecting both.

The images show a unit with a grey body, which features decorative details in glossy black. The Volkswagen badge has a design in gold and black. One of the things that brings the ID.UNYX closer to the Tavascan is the black A-pillars, as well as the lower panels and the rear diffuser, also in this colour.
The rear also reproduces the appearance of the Tavascan with some fidelity, with a pair of LED lights that create a very attractive light signature and a light bar connecting both optical units.

Batteries and motors
All versions of the ID.UNYX will be equipped with an 82.4 kWh battery pack supplied by CATL. The entry-level version will have a single electric motor on the rear axle with a power output of 228 CV. The higher versions will have another motor on the rear axle, delivering 107 CV. Both motors together offer a combined output of 335 CV.
With the first configuration, the car will have a range of 621 kilometres, and the dual-motor versions will reach 565 kilometres on a single charge. That said, this is under the Chinese homologation system, which is considerably less strict than the European one.
If it has caught your attention, you should know that these models will only be sold in China and there are no plans for them to be marketed outside the country.
