Toyota Yaris Range / versions Geneva Motor Show Urban
The Yaris GRMN with 205 hp will be presented in Geneva

The most radical production version of the Toyota Yaris will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, and it will be called Yaris GRMN (whose initials stand for Gazoo Racing – the Toyota team in the World Rally and Endurance Championships – Masters of Nürburgring). The sporty variant of the city car, with more than 200 hp, is inspired by the Yaris WRC, the car with which the brand returns to the World Rally Championship after 18 years.
It is the first sporty city car built by the Japanese company. The Yaris GRMN will feature a 1.8-litre petrol engine producing 205 hp. It will be the only car in its class to use a supercharged engine instead of a turbocharged one. These performance figures make it the most powerful model in its category, outperforming rivals such as the standard Ford Fiesta ST (182 hp).

The images of this sporty variant of the Yaris show the renewed look of the base city car, a model that will be presented at the same time as the radical variant. The Yaris GRMN features quite aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as side graphics in the colours of the rally team. At the rear, the most notable feature is a large spoiler positioned on the edge of the roofline.
The Yaris GRMN is scheduled to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, coinciding with Toyota’s return to the World Rally Championship. The manufacturer’s last participation in rallying dates back to 1999; now it returns with the Yaris WRC.

Toyota has reorganised its internal structure to develop the Yaris WRC. The person who until now was in charge of the Toyota GT86 will join the Gazoo Racing team and will supervise the development of the rally car.
