This $12,000 exhaust can make a Mercedes S 600 sound like a Pagani Zonda

This Mercedes S 600 roars at full volume thanks to a handcrafted aftermarket exhaust that costs up to $12,000.

Japan and its aftermarket parts have been revolutionizing the automotive sector since time immemorial, but the craftsman Sasaki has managed to go further. This ingenious builder has earned his reputation the hard way after a discreet Mercedes-Benz S 600 came into his hands to receive an unusual modification for a luxury saloon. The exhaust sensei has installed a system on the S 600 that costs up to $12,000. The final result? A thunderous sound that evokes the purest and most admired supercars of all time, capable of raising the hairs on your neck with its heavenly melody.

Brilliant Exhaust is the name of the discreet business that goes unnoticed in the bustling city of Tokyo, where the small workshop is located. However, the famous YouTuber Effspot decided to visit Sasaki’s facilities to let his S-Class roar as if it were a Formula 1 car.

After the visit by the owner of the German saloon, Brilliant Exhaust’s reputation has grown rapidly. Although it is true that throughout the video we can spot an SL 65 AMG Black Series and an E 500 of the same generation as the S-Class we are dealing with today, a clear sign that some car enthusiasts were already aware of this almost clandestine workshop.

As a general rule, aftermarket exhausts are usually accompanied by a much more striking and revealing outlet. However, despite the cost of the installation, the S 600 has a twin cylindrical tailpipe that not only goes unnoticed, but also manages to keep the essence of the saloon intact, since it looks like a standard fitting.

The long tunnels of Tokyo and its towering skyscrapers have been the ideal setting to test the new exhaust system and make it sound in front of supercars of the calibre of the Lamborghini Aventador SV or the McLaren 570S. Its colossal and thunderous sound is so high-pitched that it almost borders on the unbearable, something made possible thanks to the V12 engine hidden in the depths of this German flagship.

Cruising at mid-range revs, we can witness how a very catchy melody begins to spread through the Japanese capital. For now, no incidents with the police have occurred, partly because, as surprising as it may seem, this exhaust system has been homologated, although the owner of this S 600 will probably have to deal with the authorities on more than one occasion.
