This Bugatti Chiron at 1:1 scale built by LEGO is impressive, and it can actually be driven

Bugatti and LEGO have once again joined forces to bring to life a 1:1 scale model of the Chiron, which is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 km/h.

Bugatti and LEGO have a close relationship, which has resulted in scale models as exclusive -and realistic- as the Chiron we told you about a few weeks ago. However, both companies wanted to go one step further, with the aim of showing the world that when we talk about a Bugatti Chiron, it is not like talking about just any vehicle. LEGO and the French firm have once again joined forces to bring this 1:1 scale Chiron, built with more than a million pieces, to life, but the most surprising thing is that it can be driven.

The Bugatti Chiron is one of those vehicles that exudes exclusivity no matter how you look at it, something that the LEGO engineers have also managed to capture in their scale model. However, the task of bringing a full-scale model of the French hypercar to life has not been easy, since both companies have had to summon courage and time to shape this Chiron made entirely from LEGO pieces.

After bringing together engineers from both the car manufacturer and LEGO, more than 13,000 hours of work were needed to bring this extraordinary creation to life. The detail and care with which this full-scale model of the Bugatti Chiron has been built are worthy of admiration, since even the light-lighting pattern of the production model has been mimicked.

Another component that strongly catches the eye is the rear wing, which also has a retractable function that perfectly imitates the movements carried out on the real Chiron. The cabin has also been recreated, striving to be as faithful as possible to the original model and, although everything has a rectangular shape, we can find a multitude of elements represented just as they can be seen on the Bugatti Chiron.

However, what really catches the eye of this exact copy is that it can be driven. It is true that it cannot exceed 400 km/h, but professional driver Andy Wallace managed to reach a speed of 20 km/h. This is possible thanks to the 2,304 electric motors hidden in its rear, which also feature a multitude of LEGO pieces. In this way, the scale Chiron is capable of generating 5.3 CV of power and 92 Nm of torque, figures more than enough to turn this model into a whole amusement park for car enthusiasts.

The location chosen to test the LEGO Bugatti Chiron was the German track Ehra Lessien, where the French firm’s engineers drove the original model. It weighs 1,500 kilograms, but that does not prevent it from being presented as a very attractive and fun toy for grown-up children.
