The world of electric vehicles is gradually arriving in our market and it won’t be long before our streets are full of this type of car. Electrification is presented as a very serious alternative to combustion engines, and brands are aware of this. They demonstrate it by updating their product ranges and offering more and more 100% electric vehicles. This is the case of Volkswagen, which has just unveiled its proposal of electric vehicles for the future.

The German company has great plans for its fleet of electric models over the coming years. Volkswagen wants to take advantage of the Los Angeles Motor Show to showcase all its news regarding this type of engine. The brand has stated that development of the I.D. family is already underway and we won’t have to wait long to see the first vehicle bearing these initials.

Volkswagen has three prototypes ready to be exhibited at the Los Angeles Motor Show. These three models are the I.D. Buzz, the compact I.D. and the I.D. Crozz SUV. At the same time, the brand has stated that it intends to sell one million 100% electric vehicles per year from launch until 2025. They have stated that in Europe the debut of the I.D. will be marked by a compact electric car, while in the United States it will be an SUV.

The German company will have a completely new platform for its electric vehicles, which will be used in the rest of the VAG group’s models that adopt this type of powertrain. Volkswagen intends to offer vehicles with high range that are respectful of the environment. But the most difficult challenge it must overcome is achieving fast charging times, something the brand is working on very diligently.

At the same time, the new I.D. vehicles from Volkswagen will offer a generous amount of space for both occupants and luggage. In this way, the German company claims that they will have a compact with the dimensions of a Golf but the interior space of a Passat. They achieve this thanks to all the space saved by not using many of the components of combustion engines.

New virtual reality services will also be available, which will improve the purchasing experience of an I.D. model and create a database listing all owners of that vehicle. Without a doubt, the future is already here and Volkswagen has personally taken it upon itself to bring it about.
