This is the MG Maze, a concept car based on video games
The company MG, which is part of the multinational SAIC, has unveiled a concept car based on the world of video games to bring more fun to driving.

The development of concept vehicles is very common among brands. With these vehicles they test new elements, shapes, propulsion systems and connectivity that become test beds for new models. The latest concept car from MG has just been unveiled and is called MG Maze, a futuristic model designed based on video games.
And that, when we talk about a concept car, means it has a completely futuristic look. The car was created by the SAIC Design centre the multinational has in London. Its intention is to “bring back the fun of driving to electric cars”.

A concept for having fun
To create it they relied on three fundamental concepts: Playing is important; discovering is important and adventure is important. They have created a car with a sloping roof, short overhangs and an active and very dynamic look. The vehicle features a large glazed area, and the front headlights give it an aggressive touch that shows it goes beyond the practical. At the rear, the light clusters run from side to side of the bodywork.

But what most confirms its place in the urban environment is its compact dimensions. Ideal for getting around the city without trouble parking or moving through the congested traffic of its streets. There are no front doors, and access to the interior is through the front, which lifts up to let two passengers in.
The interior is entirely digital, as it features projections onto the windscreen and a completely virtual interface. Is it a car designed to get around the city? Yes, but a video-game one, because although it has technology that could be used in reality, it is only a concept to be shown as a demonstration of it.
For the moment it will remain a show car from which elements will be extracted that could be used in future models of the brand. The car’s specifications have not been revealed. We know it is electric, but we know nothing about its traction system. What is known is that it will have a system of swappable batteries, so charging and replacing the battery will be simpler and quicker if it cannot be connected to a charging post.
