This is the Rafale Presidential Renault of the French Head of State

The French Head of State usually travels in cars supplied by several manufacturers in the country. Renault is one of the brands that supplies vehicles prepared for this role. In this case, the car delivered was a Renault Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4×4, designed by the Renault design centre in Guyancourt.

The Renault Rafale Presidential offers a very sober and elegant silhouette. Several elements have been added that make it stand out from any other version of the model and turn it into a vehicle intended for transporting the French Head of State and providing all the protection and functionality that a person of his responsibility needs.

The front grille is designed in the colours of the French flag, giving it an institutional and elegant look. The flag mounts that identify the vehicle as an official car can be removed, and France’s colours are also present in other parts of the bodywork. The body paint is Presidential Blue and has been treated to absorb heat by up to 10 ºC, which makes the temperature in the cabin more pleasant. Blue, white and red are also present in the form of particles in the paint.

The 20-inch wheels are fitted with Michelin tyres, and the chassis has been adjusted to handle with ease the extra weight caused by the armour plating and the other elements fitted inside the cabin as decorative features. The interior has been carefully redone to give it the elegant touch needed in a presidential car.

The adaptation work was carried out in collaboration between the Élysée Palace, Renault and several French craftsmen, who introduced design elements typical of the country and that form part of its identity. The joint work has resulted in a car that combines functionality, elegance, mechanics and safety, all essential for an official vehicle.

The vehicle will serve as the presidential car and replaces the previous one, fulfilling a vital task in ensuring that Emmanuel Macron’s journeys are comfortable and safe.
