The brand is presenting the new update to the model, which is set to receive a facelift for 2025 and will be on display at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.

The Volkswagen Golf is being prepared by the brand to face 2025 with major changes. It doesn’t seem they will be very large changes, but they will be important. In fact, we won’t see the bodywork uncovered until the end of this month, but the brand has released images of the car covered in camouflage so that we can start to get an idea of what is coming.

The changes that have been applied apparently stem from the feedback received on the MK8, the version this variant will replace. All the technology on board will be the star of CES in Las Vegas, which begins now and will showcase the latest consumer electronics developments geared towards the automotive world.

Technology across the whole range Volkswagen

The technology we will find on board the new Volkswagen Golf 2025 will not be exclusive to this model, but will be available across all of the brand’s models and gradually installed in all of them. One of the most important points is the presence of a large central screen.

The central screen has been replaced by a large one, similar to a tablet, which is easier to operate. This type of screen comes from models such as the Passat, the Tiguan or from electric models such as the ID.7 and the ID.4, for example. In addition, special emphasis has been placed on physical controls for managing various elements of the vehicle.

The climate control knobs are clearly identified and can even be located in the dark. Physical buttons on the steering wheel have also returned. These replace the touch-sensitive controls, which had problems as they could be activated unintentionally while driving.

The exterior, also with changes

The changes are not limited to the interior, so for now we see the car with camouflage that hides details of the bodywork. For that reason, we find images of the car covered in camouflage vinyl. What can be seen in this case is a new set of front lights and a redesigned bumper.

You can also see decorative elements in the shape of hockey sticks, which rise from the ends and create a striking look. There is a rear spoiler, and the 19-inch wheels give it a sporty look that is quite appealing. It is expected that there will be no manual gearbox, and no details are known about the engine.

The GTI version is expected to keep the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, although it could be tuned to go from 241 CV up to 261 CV, as the Volkswagen Tiguan offers with the same engine.
