Toyota Corolla Sedán: a new member that's here to stay

Toyota has unveiled to the world its new Corolla Sedán, a model set to shake up the segment with its hybrid engine and its bold design.

Just a few days ago, we witnessed how Toyota previewed the imminent arrival of a sedan variant of its new Corolla, an event that has now taken place. The Japanese brand has just unveiled the new body style for its definitive compact, which not only seeks to stay closer to its roots through its name, but also aims to be more practical than ever. This translates into greater capacity for its occupants and more cargo space, two qualities that have benefited without the need to give up a futuristic and attractive design.

After 12 generations of the Toyota Corolla, the Japanese manufacturer has decided to go further with this latest one and offer a new configuration aimed at those who seek a perfect balance between tradition and avant-garde styling. To do so, Toyota has turned to the GA-C platform to bring the new Corolla Sedán to life, and through which it can enjoy significant advantages over its main rivals.

However, one of the most striking aspects of the new Corolla Sedán is, without a doubt, its innovative design. On the one hand, we can see a front end that shows strong similarities to the one found on both the hatchback and the Touring Sport estate; nevertheless, we do find certain differences, such as sharper front lights and a more rounded splitter that fits more precisely into the rest of the front bumper.

But, without a doubt, it is at the rear where Toyota’s designers have focused most of their efforts, as it stands out as one of the areas with the most personality on the new Corolla Sedán. We can see more muscular lines that break away from the rounder appearance of the standard Corolla, giving the car a more dynamic and imposing look. At the same time, on this new rear section rectangular new lights are fitted that continue this more aggressive and bold styling.

The mechanical section will be headlined by the 1.8-litre hybrid engine capable of producing 122 CV of power, a figure more than sufficient to move the new Toyota sedan with ease. At the same time, thanks to this less polluting heart, the new Corolla Sedán will carry the ECO label issued by the DGT , allowing the Japanese saloon to enjoy numerous advantages over rivals that do not have this classification.

Furthermore, this package is complemented by numerous driver assistance systems, among which we should highlight the Pre-Collision Safety System with pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection, Adaptive Cruise Control at any speed, Lane Departure Warning with steering assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Intelligent High Beam Control. In this way, the Japanese brand aims to firmly enter the mid-size saloon market with a vehicle capable of offering a perfect balance between sustainability, design, consumption and practicality, something that could be even more pronounced with the still unknown price of the new Toyota Corolla Sedán.
