Toyota will create a brand grouping its special models
Toyota would create a brand of performance models, much as AMG is for Mercedes, or RS for Audi, a brand already known as TMG.

The recent foray of the Toyota TS030 into Le Mans has only fuelled the enthusiasm of the marque’s motorsport department to create its own brand that would represent the performance models of Toyota, equivalent to what AMG means for Mercedes, or RS for Audi.
The matter has been discussed by the president of the competition division, Yoshiaki Kinoshita, who will be responsible for creating special road models for sale on the market, as well as overseeing the racing programme for the hybrids in the endurance championship.
Among the candidates that may possibly be submitted in the future to Toyota Motorsport GmbH (already known as TMG to its friends), are the GT-86 with a more powerful version and some sporty version of the Lexus LS460 that has been circulating around Toyota’s headquarters and that would be unveiled in September at the Essen Motor Show.
The activities of this newly created division will be centred in Cologne, Germany, where the Formula 1 team’s base was once located and where much of the latest development of the TS030 hybrids used at Le Mans has taken place.
