Toyota GR86 TRUENO; special edition of an icon, limited to 50 units
Toyota launches a special edition limited to 50 units in Canada of the famous GR86, this time with the support of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing and incredible details

Toyota celebrates the 40th anniversary of the launch of the AE86 with a special edition of the GR86 Sports Coupe called TRUENO. This edition will be limited to 50 units and will be available exclusively in Canada. The design of the TRUENO edition is inspired by the AE86 and features a two-tone side panel graphic and black hood, combined with Halo or Track bRed colours and has been fitted under the incredible TOYOTA GAZOO Racing group.
The GR86 TRUENO Edition comes with an enhanced performance package that includes SACHS® shock absorbers, Brembo® brakes with red-painted 4-piston calipers, and 2-piston rear brake calipers clamp the smooth-surface front rotors measuring 325 x 33 mm, with 315 x 20 mm rotors at the rear. These details complement this sports car and give it a retro two-tone look. It will be available in a Halo and black or Track bRed and black option.

On the exterior of the TRUENO edition, the first thing you notice are its halogen headlights, which pair brilliantly with an angular black hood, a side panel graphic, a black-painted duckbill spoiler, and a TRUENO Edition badge on the front bumper edge and the rear boot lid. 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels with a metallic black finish and black details on the door handles and mirror covers are also included.
With all its elements fitted, the GR86 weighs only 1,275 kg in the manual transmission version and 1,295 kg in the automatic version; even the seats have been updated and are now 3 kg lighter. The 2.4-litre FA-24 naturally aspirated engine delivers 228 CV. Its setup has been tuned to reach peak power at 3,700 RPM. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 6.3 seconds with the 6-speed manual gearbox, and in 6.9 seconds with the optional electronically controlled six-speed automatic (ECT-i). Whichever gearbox you choose, the GR86 is equipped with a Torsen® limited-slip rear differential that improves traction through corners.

Inside, the special edition features Ultrasuede® sport seats upholstered in red leather, a red-stitched gear lever, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and several exclusive TRUENO Edition details. An 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility is also included, as well as an eight-speaker premium audio system. Drivers can choose between driving modes: Normal, Sport or Snow.
The AE86, also known as Sprinter Trueno, was an iconic model renowned for its sporty performance and agile handling. The GR86 TRUENO Edition pays tribute to this legacy and is considered the spiritual successor to the AE86. With its lightweight platform, powerful engine and focus on handling and driving fun, the GR86 TRUENO Edition offers an exciting experience for sports car enthusiasts.
