Toyota GT86 CS-V3: the racing variant for the VLN

Toyota has started taking orders for the GT86 CS-V3 in Germany, aimed at V3 class competition in the VLN. If demand is good, in the future they could present a model with more power and much more equipment for competition.

Toyota has taken an unexpected turn with the GT86. Besides being one of the current coupés that many of us want, the Japanese manufacturer has already seen potential in competition, especially in the popular VLN in Germany, winning its class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. For this reason, Toyota is making available to the public a competition variant that can be ordered at any dealership.

The GT-86 CS-V3 is aimed at the V3 class of the VLN, one of the most accessible if you want to start racing (in Germany, of course). The cost of the car, equipped accordingly by Toyota Motorsport GmbH and homologated by the Deutsche Motor Sport Bund, will be 38,500 euros.

Don’t think that for that price you’re getting a GT3, but at least Toyota will sell you the suspension setup, chassis, brakes, racing wheels and slick tyres, roll cage, competition seats, three-point harnesses and electronic fire extinguisher. The engine and transmission will be completely identical to those of the road model.

If demand for this model is good, the motorsport division of Toyota has in mind for the future the launch on track of another model for drivers who want to get started, although with more power and more preparation than this one.
