At the Tokyo Motor Show, the leading manufacturers from the Asian continent will showcase their projects aimed at the most immediate future of the automotive industry. This section of the Japanese event will be called Future Expo, where, among other proposals, visitors will be able to see the Toyota LQ Concept, an update of the Toyota Concept-i shown in 2017.

A futuristic prototype with the spirit of a production car: although its bodywork is a futuristic design, it is something that could pass for a production model. It takes the form of a five-door saloon, although there are details that could disappear when it becomes a road model, such as the covered rear wheels.

The interior of the Toyota LQ Concept is designed to have a minimalist design, as is usual in these concept models. The main feature of this cabin is the 3D instrument cluster, which provides all the information the driver needs and allows them, at a glance, to be aware of everything around them and understand the particularities of traffic.

The cabin air is in constant movement, with an air renewal system that allows breathing ionized, cleaner and refreshing air. The seats are cooled, which makes driving more pleasant and improves the driving experience.

The YUI driver assistance system allows configuring elements such as cooling, cabin lighting, fragrances or the type of music each driver needs at any given moment. Everything is aimed at letting the driver travel relaxed and in the best conditions.

In addition, this prototype will have level 4 autonomous driving capability, meaning it will be able to move with full autonomy at certain times, without driver intervention, even when parking without human assistance.

Further technology on board the Toyota LQ is the presence of headlights made of mirrors, which manage to create images in front of the vehicle and allow better visibility of the road without interfering with oncoming vehicles, avoiding dazzling them. A small car measuring 4,530 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and an electric range of 300 kilometres.
