Tribute to Ayrton Senna by Honda

Today is no ordinary day for Honda. Today the Japanese brand wants to pay tribute to what is probably the best driver in F1 history, and it has done so in its own way, as always, very special.
In 2014 it will be twenty years since the death of the Brazilian driver, and preparations for reminders and tributes to the ill-fated sportsman are already underway.
Honda has wanted to launch its own particular tribute to Senna these past few days, who drove single-seaters powered by Honda between 1987 and 1993. It was with these engines that Ayrton won his three world championships, in 1988, 1990 and 1991. Let us recall that Ayrton Senna died on 10 May 1994 at the Imola Grand Prix, Italy, at the age of 34.
Beyond his talent on the track, Senna collaborated in the development of road models, such as the Honda NSX, the quintessential Japanese supercar.
Thanks to the sixth sense the Brazilian driver had for any sports car, Honda marketed one of the best chassis to date which, although it was not an unprecedented success due to its high price, is fetching more and more every day.
That is why Honda has prepared a video paying tribute to the genius from Rio, a very special video.
The Japanese manufacturer wanted to relive a lap aboard Senna’s single-seater at the Japanese circuit of Suzuka, and with the help of telemetry maps from Ayrton’s car, as well as a spectacular sound and lighting system, they have managed to create the illusion of a ghostly lap by Senna at full speed. A most striking and original tribute, all a spectacle for the senses.

Fantástica noticia, se me han puesto los pelos de punta al volver a oir el sonido de ese motor Honda V6 (RA168-E) sobrealimentado por turbocompresor, que desarrollaba nada más y nada menos que 1200 CV. Y Que mejor piloto que Ayrton Senna para domar a la bestia, el único capaz de sacarle todo el rendimiento y más, increíble. Como curiosidad ese año fue el último en el que Honda montó un motor Turbo, ya que la normativa de la FIA los había prohibido para la temporada de 1989 en la que montarían un V10 atmosférico (RA109-E). Una recreación realmente impresionante, con un despliegue audiovisual como nunca habia imaginado, es como si Senna realmente volviese a los mandos de su MP4-4. Eso si, Ayrton pilotó monoplazas impulsados por Honda entre 1987 y 1992 (En 1987 con chasis Lotus y el resto con chasis McLaren) En 1993 como afirma la noticia el propulsor del McLaren (MP4-8) era un FORD COSWORTH V8
