Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid Cars
Ukraine's police joins the hybrid world with 651 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVs

Law enforcement agencies in many countries are increasingly opting to replace part of their fleets powered by traditional engines with vehicles featuring hybrid technology. From Los Angeles to many European cities, the trend of “going green” is gaining ground to reduce polluting emissions while patrolling the streets.
The latest to take this step forward is Ukraine, which has just ordered 651 units of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV to join its fleets in various cities. The Japanese crossover will arrive within a few months, once it reaches international markets and begins to be distributed worldwide, including Spain.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will replace the Russian VAV and UAZ models, which currently serve the police in this country. These vehicles do not have very clean engines, and their technology has become outdated, so police forces need modern vehicles with enough power to carry out their duties while also avoiding releasing large quantities of polluting gases into the atmosphere.

As for the car that will be equipping the Ukrainian police, it is a hybrid featuring a 2.0-litre engine and two additional electric motors. The combustion engine is a 2.0-litre petrol unit producing 121 CV. It is paired with an electric motor on the front axle delivering 82 CV and 137 Nm, while the second electric motor sends 82 CV and 132 Nm of maximum torque to the rear axle.
It also features a 70 kW generator and a lithium-ion battery with 300 V and a capacity of 12 kWh. Purely electric propulsion offers a range of 52 kilometres, with a top speed of 130 km/h, and it recharges in just 5 hours, although with a Wallbox connector this drops to 3.5 hours.
Soon, the citizens of Ukraine will see this model on their streets, making them feel safer and, above all, greener.
