Video of the Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR on its record lap at the Nürburgring
The Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special has been the first four-door car to set a record time at the Nürburgring, with 6 minutes and 57 seconds.

Last July, Subaru announced the record set by the new WRX STI Type RA NBR Special at the Nürburgring circuit. Now, the Japanese carmaker has published the video of the 6 minutes and 57.5 seconds the saloon took to complete a full lap.
The car set the record for four-door vehicles, although this model was specially prepared by Prodrive with technology similar to that of competition cars. Richie Stanaway was the driver in charge of the run.

The car’s engine is the 2.0-litre flat-four boxer that STI uses in its home market, but which has been uprated by Prodrive to produce 600 CV and which, as you can see in the video, reaches 8,000 rpm without breaking a sweat. On the outside, the special bodykit designed to improve aerodynamic downforce and a large diffuser stand out.
Subaru has also designed a limited edition of the WRX STI Type RA inspired by the NBR Special, which features a 314 CV engine.
Below you can watch the video of the record lap of almost 21 kilometres from the onboard camera, and to give you an idea, the model achieved a time similar to that of a Porsche 918 Spyder.
