Volkswagen rolls out the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE to production
The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE not only pays tribute to its heritage, but also marks a milestone in Volkswagen’s evolution towards electric mobility, blending style, performance and sustainability in a limited edition.
One year after Volkswagen caused a sensation with the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE prototype at the ID. Meeting in Locarno 2024, the German manufacturer has launched a limited special edition of this electric model. With only 1,990 units produced, in honour of the year the original Volkswagen Golf of this same series was born, this version combines a sporty style with cutting-edge technology to uphold its legacy.

Available in two power levels, 210 kW and 240 kW, both with an impressive peak torque of 545 Nm, the new ID.3 FIRE+ICE goes on sale in Germany with a base price of 56,020 euros.
Performance worthy of what it represents
This limited special edition impresses not only with its design, as the images show, but also with its performance. The new model can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. Equipped with a 79 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the new ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE offers a WLTP range of 591 km, as the manufacturer promises.
It also supports a maximum charging power of 185 kW for DC fast charging, allowing it to go from 10 to 80 per cent charge of the battery pack in approximately 26 minutes.

The exterior design of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is unmistakable, with its Ultra Violet Metallic paint highlighting its sporty character. The 20-inch “Locarno” alloy wheels reinforce its unique style, taking inspiration from the Fire and Ice special edition of the second-generation Golf launched in 1990. That model, created in collaboration with businessman and fashion designer Willy Bogner, was an unexpected success, with 16,700 units sold against the 10,000 forecast. This edition revives that partnership with BOGNER, fusing fashion and electric mobility in a vehicle that evokes both the history of Volkswagen and its vision of the future.

“The response to last year’s prototype was overwhelming. Volkswagen fans wanted to see this model in production, and we are excited to make it a reality. The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE combines the emotion of our Premium sporty model with a touch of the brand’s history, projecting it into the electric era.”
