The new Volkswagen T5 has decided to introduce Volkswagen4Motion all-wheel drive across its entire range, which can only be combined with a diesel engine. The entry-level option is a 2.0 TDI with 140 CV, while the 180 CV turbocharged version will also be available for those who need better performance.

This new option will be available in the Multivan, Caravelle and Transporter versions, and can even be paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. In this way, Volkswagen adds to these models the Common Rail technology, with which it aims to reduce energy consumption.

In terms of performance, a Multivan with the 180 CV engine goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 12.1 seconds, while its top speed is 188 km/h. Its combined consumption is around 8.8 litres per 100 km, a respectable figure given the relationship between the vehicle’s weight and its model. Finally, prices for the new Transporter 4Motion range start at €30,978, while the California starts at €37,746.
