Renault Electric Cars Concepts Salón de París
Watch out for this Renault 5, a version aimed at the 2022 Paris Motor Show
The French brand is previewing a version of the new Renault 5, with a sporty look, designed to be displayed at the Paris Motor Show.

It has been a while since Renault announced that a new version of the Renault 5 would soon arrive, one that will feature an electric powertrain and will be a step forward for this classic. At the time, we had the chance to see a concept car that previewed what we could expect from the production model. In addition, several versions have been shown, with designs from prestigious designers, that add an eccentric and original touch to the car.
But what has reached us now is a series of images showing a new version of the R5, but with add-ons that turn it into a completely different and very radical model. This variant is reportedly set to be shown at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, next October. It will be a concept model, meant to show that it will not be the city car we remember, but something much more than that.

The variant seen in these photos is a three-door car, dressed in a body kit that features a large rear spoiler that gives it personality and a very aggressive look. We see a bit more of those exterior additions on the new electric Renault 5. You can make out a new, larger rear diffuser, widened wheel arches and large alloy wheels.

There is also a strip of LED lights spanning the full width of the front, and rally-style lights placed beneath this light line.
The base that inspired this version of the concept car to be seen in Paris is the Renault 5 Turbo, the sporty variant of the classic compact. To equip this aggressive look, it seems they have also taken inspiration from the world of video games, which explains the very special look of this show car.
The details remain fairly hidden by the darkness predominant in the photos revealed by Renault. But this only makes us eager to know more and to stay tuned to discover the surprise the brand has in store for the debut of this version.
