What would an Audi RS Q2 look like? Raw renders for every taste

RSQ2 1

It has only been a week since the launch of the youngest member of Audi’s Q family, the Q2, and you can read here all the information about it.

However, the first sketches of what would be the most powerful variant of the range, a hypothetical RS Q2, are already starting to circulate online.

The Audi Q2 is the latest and smallest model to join the Audi Q family, one of the most popular and successful of recent years, launched with the Q7 and later extended downwards with the Q5 and Q3 models. Interestingly, the Q range has always followed a downward trajectory, with the Q2 being the latest proposal.

Thus, the Q2 is presented as the entry-level option to the Audi SUV range, being the first, and in principle only, model to be built on the MQB modular platform, which it shares with models such as the new Volkswagen Tiguan or SEAT Ateca. It is therefore a small model (4.19 metres long).

Its distinctive design is clearly different from other Audi models, much more youthful and bold. The interior is more conservative, with a dashboard practically identical to that of the A3. Of course, there will be TDI diesel and TFSI petrol engines with three and four cylinders, with power outputs reaching 190 CV, as well as quattro all-wheel drive.

A 300 CV RS Q2? It sounds appealing and would give the Q2 that extra touch typical of a premium brand

Once presented, rumours and renders from various designers began to appear, imagining a hypothetical sporty version. Logically, it is still too early to commit to the launch of a future RS Q2, but… why could it not become a reality?

The images show different designer proposals imagining a small rocket in the form of an SUV, with a look that is instantly recognisable as RS thanks to a very sporty front end with oversized air intakes. There would certainly be widened wheel arches to house large wheels, as well as side skirts and an exhaust system suited to the model. The truth is that the images are very appealing.

Mechanically, there is speculation about the possibility of using the 2.0 TFSI currently fitted to the S3, with a power output that, again, would be around 300 CV. There is also talk of a possible SQ2 that would use a diesel engine, possibly the 2.0 BiTDi from the Passat, with 240 CV, which would make an ultra-fast diesel version.
