Will the Seat León 4x4 return?

cupra4

I think many of you will remember the León4 and Cupra4, those 4×4 variants that Seat Spain launched with the first-generation León, a limited edition with a 2.8-litre V6 producing 204 CV in the Cupra4, with selectable all-wheel drive. If that model was anything to go by, just imagine what a León4 of the current generation could be.

We had been hearing rumours about the return of the León 4×4 for a few years now, but we have now confirmed that Seat’s Czech website today announced the news that there would be a 4×4 version hitting the Czech market in January 2014. The Seat press release does not specify whether it will be for the new ST estate or the SC, for both, or whether the FR or the next Cupra (here we are already dreaming) will also be included.

And since there is a more refined version of the central differential Haldex, featured in the Volkswagen Golf 4Motion, it suggests there is no obstacle preventing Seat from incorporating it into the León as well.

Beyond the possibilities a Cupra with all-wheel drive would offer, we must also consider markets where this type of vehicle is highly valued and not just for off-road use: Northern Europe and the Swiss market.

¿¿¿Seat Leon muy apreciado en Suiza???
Yo vivo en Suiza y aqui (Berna) el único Leon es el mío, jeje.
No se si será muy apreciado… pero yo no he visto muchos.
