Xiaomi wants to double its sales: a second electric car ready and a third in development
The Xiaomi SU7 became a success during 2024, but the company wants to improve its numbers with the launch of a new model and a third one in 2026.

The arrival of the technology company Xiaomi in the automotive market caused considerable surprise around the world. The launch of the Xiaomi SU7 left no one indifferent, and the sales figures for this electric saloon have confirmed that interest. Throughout 2024, around 135,000 units of the model were sold, so the numbers are on their side, and they want them to be even better.
The year 2025 looks set to be an ideal time to explore new opportunities, and to that end they are considering launching a new model. The company expected to sell around 100,000 units throughout 2024, but this figure has been far exceeded, and so they expect that with the launch of the brand’s first electric SUV, sales in 2025 will double.

Sales in 2024
In June 2024, Xiaomi recorded the sale of 14,926 units, but during July, August and September all the alarms went off. Sales fell considerably. From October onwards sales began to recover, as 20,726 units were sold that month. In November the figure reached 23,156 units, closing the year with very attractive numbers.
In 2025 the company’s first 15 years are being celebrated, so the celebration extends to the brand’s model as well. A special edition in intense pink is going to be launched, a version that can only be reserved through the Xiaomi EV app. It will also feature wheels decorated in the same pink and in silver, so it is a car that draws considerable attention.

The second electric model
Following the great success achieved by the Xiaomi SU7, the company has announced the arrival of the Xiaomi YU7. This is an electric SUV whose technical details are not yet known. The new model is expected to have the same specifications as the SU7, although this is not certain.
If this were the case, the YU7 will have three battery versions: the first will have a capacity of 73.6 kWh, a second with a capacity of 94.3 kWh, and a third of 101 kWh. What is clear is that the YU7 will have all-wheel drive, so it will offer quite interesting performance.
The electric motor on the front axle will deliver a power output of 295 CV, while the rear-axle motor will deliver 386 CV. Combined, the total power will be 681 CV. As for the price, it will be somewhat more expensive than the SU7, although it will remain fairly competitive. It is expected to be priced between 250,000 and 300,000 yuan, which would be roughly between 33,200 and 40,000 euros.
In addition, 2025 will bring the surprise of a third model, which is still a big secret but which aims to expand the brand’s line-up, both in China and in other markets where it will arrive shortly.
