You can still buy a BMW M8 2020 Manufaktur Individual inspired by the E31 M8 prototype
If you are one of the enthusiasts of the Bavarian brand, you should not let this BMW M8 2020 Manufaktur Individual pass you by.

A handful of units of the BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur Edition 2020 are still available in Canada following the car’s unveiling in mid-September 2019.
The special edition model, which went into production with a limit of just 20 units exclusively for the Canadian market, comes loaded with options and is available in Fire Red and Frozen Black.

Only ten units of each paint finish were produced. There are currently at least two of the Fire Red units available, one at BMW Edmonton in Alberta and another at BMW Gallery in Calgary.
A search of the German manufacturer’s online inventory suggests there are a handful of other units still unsold and looking for homes.

BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur Edition 2020
While the BMW M8 Competition Individual Manufaktur looks good in both Frozen Black and Fire Red, the last paint finish is perhaps the most special. Why? In the early 1990s, BMW secretly developed a prototype called the BMW M8 Coupé, and that one-off was also painted Fire Red. BMW only acknowledged the existence of this prototype in 2010, and the 2020 Fire Red M8 Competition pays tribute to that car.
Regardless of whether buyers opt for Frozen Black or Fire Red, the 20 units include a large number of M Performance parts, including carbon fibre for the kidney grille surround, the side mirrors, the side skirts, the air intake edges and the rear diffuser. Inside, the coupés also feature a special ‘BMW Individual Manufaktur‘ inscription on the carbon fibre cup holder and the smartphone wireless charging tray cover.

When the limited-run model was announced, BMW said it had a starting price of around 150,000 euros. The unit offered by BMW Gallery in Calgary has a sticker price of around 200,000 euros, while BMW Edmonton is asking slightly less for the model it has in stock.
The 20 units are mechanically identical to the standard BMW M8 Competition, which means they feature a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 625 CV, 460 kW and 750 Nm of torque, which helps it accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The cabin of this impressive BMW M8 Individual Manufaktur features seats and trim upholstered in Merino leather, in Sakhir Orange and Black. There is also carbon fibre, used subtly on the wireless charging cover, the coasters… and even on the engine cover. To manage the enormous mechanical power, the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system comes into play, which also allows the front axle to be ‘disconnected’, after deactivating the DSC stability control, so the car can be ‘drifted’ in safe environments, such as a race track.
