001 Zeekr Sedans Electric Cars
Zeekr will unveil the renewal of its flagship 001 on the coming 27 February
In 2024, the young brand from Chinese giant Geely plans to consolidate its range of electric vehicles, while also extending its availability to new markets
Production of the mid-size saloon 007 from the Chinese manufacturer seems to be going well. ZEEKR has just revealed that 10,000 units of this model have already rolled off its production plant in less than two months, which amounts to a true record. The company has also registered more than 50,000 orders for the 007 in the Chinese market alone, which makes clear the interest its new electric saloon has generated.
But the good news doesn’t end here. The Chinese manufacturer has taken the opportunity to announce that on this coming 27 February it will officially present the renewal of its flagship, the Zeekr 001.

For now we don’t have many details about the improvements we will find on the 001, but all doubts will be cleared up in less than a week. Zeekr has nevertheless published a video on the Chinese social network Weibo giving some hints of what we will see in just a few days, showing several new paint colours and indicating that Zhou Guanyu, China’s first Formula 1 driver, has been in direct contact with the engineers of Zeekr to bring this renewal to fruition.
Perhaps this is the moment you have been waiting for
It is not out of the question, on the other hand, that there could be a reduction in the price of the 001. This would be a hard blow to its competitors. Although this is not confirmed, it would not be surprising given how heated the electric vehicle market currently is in China.
As regards its technical specifications, a recent leak from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicates that the new 001 will be somewhat longer than its predecessor, and also somewhat taller, but this difference will be measured in millimetres. Zeekr is also expected to offer for the first time the option of selecting a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack when configuring the vehicle, while keeping the option of another lithium-ion battery pack like the one it currently uses.

Finally, it is worth noting that everything points to Zeekr offering this time, as part of its optional equipment, one or more LiDAR sensors to improve the performance of the 001’s autonomous driving system. On 27 February we will see whether all of this is really the case.
