New York City is preparing to receive 168 units of the Ford Mustang Mach-e GT

Electrification remains a priority for many cities, not only in Europe but all over the world. That is why it doesn’t surprise us to learn that New York City is awaiting the delivery of 168 units of the Ford Mustang Mach-e GT. This electric car will become part of the fleet of the city’s public institutions, which has just over 30,000 vehicles of various types.

The city council of the American city has invested 11.5 million dollars in the purchase of these electric vehicles. The Ford Mustang Mach-e GT will be made available to several public departments of the city. The city’s Police, the Fire Department, the Medical Examiner’s Office, Environmental Protection and Parks Department will have several of these cars to carry out their usual services.

Sustainable vehicles for municipal services

The vehicles will be delivered before June 30 and will gradually be integrated into the municipal fleet. The electric cars will replace others with combustion engines, so this is an important step forward in the transition to sustainable mobility in New York’s public services.

Of the 30,000 vehicles in service in the city, there are approximately 6,200 light vehicles that can gradually be replaced by others with more sustainable mobility. That is the intention of all these departments, which with these vehicles will be able to move around the city without polluting as they go.

The Ford Mustang Mach-e GT features two electric motors, one on each axle. Together, they offer a combined output of 358 kW, equivalent to 480 CV, and a maximum torque of 813 Nm. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is rated at 3.8 seconds, and its battery pack offers a range of 435 kilometers on a single charge.
