A feline with more claws: Jaguar XKR75

There is no better occasion for a brand’s 75th anniversary than releasing a special version of a lifelong favourite like the XKR. The British marque is about to turn 75 and gives us (so to speak) an anniversary model that not only features commemorative badging but also more power and a look that is genuinely impressive.

The XKR75, as its name suggests, will be built in a limited edition of 75 units, to coincide with the 75 years. Lifting the bonnet, the first thing that will catch the eye of the brand’s enthusiasts is the V8 engine tuned to 522 horsepower, which gives it a top speed of almost 280 km/h, which would be even higher were it not electronically limited.

The acceleration of the anniversary model is similar to that of the XKR, with an imperceptible advantage of two tenths of a second, which the driver of an XKR will make up in the blink of an eye. The aim of the “75th anniversary” is really not a model designed to amaze in acceleration, but a showcase of the best the English marque has to offer. For example, the XKR75 integrates almost all the electronic systems of Jaguar that also equip other models, such as active electronic differential control. In terms of aerodynamics, the engineers have improved on the XKR with new rear diffusers and a larger spoiler than on the standard model.

The new mods are completed by a graphic line running from the rear to the front of the car along its flank, which can be ordered as an option and which really suits this model. Inside, as you can imagine, the finishes are of the highest standard, with genuine wood materials everywhere and a whole world of comfort and luxury. It is a pity that this Jaguar is not for every mortal.
