It has been less than a year since the new Citroën C3 arrived on our market, and eight months later the French brand has already sold 200,000 units of its new and improved compact.

The new Citroën C3 arrived with a completely groundbreaking look compared with its two previous versions. The small French compact left behind its city-car styling to join the new SUV trend. Its crossover appearance comes from the protective cladding on the bumpers and the tall, flat bonnet that dominates the face of the new C3.

This new, rejuvenated design gives the Citroën C3 an appeal that has helped it achieve very good results in less than a year. Its size and technical specifications make it the perfect ally for tackling the urban world, which is very positive for this compact given that it is clearly designed to get around the city. The C3 offers a very versatile range of engines, in both diesel and petrol versions.

In the French city car we find two diesel engines and three petrol engines. The diesel range is completed by two BlueHDI units producing 75 and 100 CV respectively. The petrol engines, on the other hand, offer power starting at 68 CV, going through 82 and topping out at 110 CV, which is associated with the top-of-the-range trim called Shine.

The different options available on the Citroën C3 come in three trim levels: Live, Feel and Shine. It is worth noting that 45% of C3 sales have been with the Shine trim, which comes with a very eye-catching standard equipment list, incorporating features typical of higher segments, such as sat nav, rear-view camera and cruise control, among others. This trim also features the famous Airbump, inherited directly from its bigger sibling, the C4 Cactus, another product from the French manufacturer that has sold in large numbers.

Prices for the compact from the brand with the double chevron start at 11,750 euros, corresponding to the Live trim of the C3, and rise to 16,050 euros for the Shine trim. These figures place the C3 in a very favourable position for sales, since it is very competitively priced against its main rivals and, if you choose the top version, its standard equipment is hard to beat.
