Audi shows a prototype of its future S3 model with a 2.0 TFSI engine and 333 CV
The emblematic sports model of Audi, the S3, is preparing for its big debut with an update that brings several improvements

Audi has everything ready to launch the restyling of its iconic A3 model and, as proof of this, it has released a prototype that previews some of the new features the most sporty and powerful S3 ever seen will bring. The Audi S3 prototype has driven the roads surrounding Salalah, in Oman, to showcase the potential of its next flagship model. Although still shrouded in mystery beneath its exterior camouflage, the Audi S3 prototype has given us a glimpse of several details of both the exterior and interior, as well as its engine.
This model has undergone several improvements, and it has also inherited from the RS3 the torque splitter. However, the change that will make it stand out most is the implementation of a pre-charged turbocharger that guarantees a more immediate power delivery, while the optimized throttle valve further improves performance, standing out even more in Dynamic mode.

2.0 TFSI engine with 333 CV
Audi has announced that the next S3 will experience a notable improvement in performance. The 2.0 TFSI engine has undergone a significant update, raising its power and torque to 333 CV and 420 Nm respectively (+23 CV and 20 Nm). As a result, it achieves an impressive acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.
The torque is available across a wide range, from 2,100 up to 5,500 rpm. The response of the 7-speed S tronic gearbox has also been optimized, as well as the behaviour of the turbocharger, which is now pre-charged and with the throttle valve open during acceleration phases.

New enhanced mode
As you already know, Audi features the Audi drive select, which lets us choose between several driving modes, but this time a new driving mode has been introduced that combines all the improvements and adds an extra touch of excitement: the Dynamic Plus mode, whose function is to send maximum engine torque to the rear axle, delivering a sensation of controlled oversteer.

With a McPherson front axle and an optimized progressive steering, this model has been designed to handle its impressive dynamism. The S3 is equipped with larger 18-inch brakes, with steel discs that now measure 357 mm in diameter and increase in thickness by 4 mm, reaching 34 mm on the front axle, mounted on new 19-inch tyres in 235/35 format, and specially tuned suspension systems with improved selective torque control per wheel.
