Baja España - Aragón 2025: the battle between Al-Attiyah, Nani and Ferreira over more than 800 km

The only Spanish round on the FIA World Baja Cup calendar returns with a brutal route and a star-studded entry list

Thought summer was for lounging around? Think again. Because this 23 July the engines fire up for what is, without a doubt, the mother of all off-road battles on Iberian soil: the Baja España – Aragón – Trofeo Getac 2025. And it’s no ordinary event. It is the only Spanish round included in the FIA World Baja Cup, the Champions League of rally raid.

After a break of almost two months — just long enough for the machinery to breathe and the drivers to dream of the next crusade — the Spanish Off-Road Rally Championship GT2i (CERTT) returns with its wildest gem. Teruel, land of dinosaurs, ham and science-fiction landscapes, once again becomes the playing field for the titans of off-road racing.

Tramos Baja Espana Aragon 2025

Five days of action. 800 timed kilometres. Mechanics pushed to the limit.

  • Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24: Scrutineering. Or in other words, the last moments of calm before the inferno.

  • Friday 25: Prologue stage — 7 kilometres that show no mercy. At 16:30, the FIA cars. At 18:36, the GT2i. T

  • Saturday 26: The big day. Two brutal special stages: one of 132 km and another of 199 km.

  • Sunday 27: The 132 km special stage from Saturday is repeated. Whoever makes it to the end in one piece deserves a statue in the Plaza del Torico.

A starting grid that smells of Dakar

The entry list looks like it was taken from a Rally Dakar poster. Want names? Hold on tight:

  • Nasser Al-Attiyah and his Dacia factory entry.

  • ‘Nani’ Roma, a living legend, with a Ford Raptor T1+.

  • Joao Ferreira, the new hope of Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Eduard Pons Previo Baja Aragon 2024

And that’s just the international showcase. Because if we head to the CERTT GT2i ring, we have a luxury line-up:

  • Santiago Carnicer, Luis Recuenco, Félix Macías, and the long-awaited return of Daniel Alonso.

  • In T3 and T4, the ever-competitive Eduard Pons, Fidel Castillo, Gael Queralt, and the overall leader, Federico Mogni, with his always efficient Polaris.

  • Special mention for the return of Cristina Gutiérrez to Aragonese lands after years away.

And yes, the young talent Pau Navarro will also be there with BBR Motorsport, proof that the next generation is coming on strong.

Regularity

It’s not all about top speed. The Spanish Off-Road Rally Regularity Cup will feature 18 teams giving their all, with Javier Foix, Alfonso Javier González and Joao Fortes fighting for glory by tenths of a second.

And of course, one of the most inspiring initiatives in Spanish motorsport returns: the ParaBaja Step by Step, a living example that the passion for off-road knows no barriers.
