China is one of the most interesting markets for the automotive industry, and the large industrial groups working in it keep an eye on Chinese buyers in order to keep innovating and preparing more models to present there. Baojun is part of GM’s brand in China and has focused on developing electric cars that help reduce the serious pollution problems faced by China’s major cities. To this end, they have just presented a new electric model for city driving.

This small electric vehicle does not yet have an official name, but we can see the first images of the small city car. This compact city car joins the existing electric models, the Baojun E100 and the Baojun E200, although it looks a little more attractive than these two earlier models.

The new Baojun is a small car with only two seats. Its exterior is marked by two tones and has an original look that promises on-board technology for enjoying urban driving. The front, according to the brand, brings to mind radar wave patterns, adding the innovative touch that characterises the model.

Another feature of this new Baojun electric model is the door design, which has hidden door handles and also an attractive styling. The wheels also offer a futuristic look, with a cross-shaped design that gives an interesting appearance and is very practical because it improves the aerodynamics of the model.

The brand has not made the transmission public, so we cannot know what technical characteristics the model will have. Looking at the Baojun E200, it could replicate its powertrain, which allows it to cover 210 km on the NEDC cycle, although we know its range in normal driving is somewhat less.

Baojun’s intention is to continue offering models with conventional engines without forgetting electric vehicles, so that Chinese users can choose from an extensive catalogue.
