Best SUVs 2019: top 5 that will make the difference
The SUV segment is the most popular on the market, outselling other types of car, and these are five 2019 SUVs we can classify as the best.

Every year we put together a list of the most popular cars on the market, and taking advantage of the fact that 2019 is drawing to a close, we want to make a list of a popular car segment, perhaps the most popular on the market in recent years. SUVs have become the most sought-after models, dethroning other types of car that until recently were the best sellers, such as saloons or compacts. These are the five SUVs that we liked the most and can classify as the best SUVs of 2019.
Mercedes Benz EQC
The electric SUV from Mercedes made its debut this year, and the Mercedes EQC is ready to put up a fight in a complicated market, that of SUVs, with the added bonus that it is a 100% electric car. It will reach the market in the fourth quarter of this year and we do not yet know its price, but it will be around 70,000 euros. The range set by the German manufacturer is around 450 kilometres on the WLTP cycle and it offers a power output of 300 kW, equivalent to 408 CV.

BMW X5 Hybrid
Another German manufacturer presents a powerful, elegant and luxurious SUV, the BMW X5. An SUV that is also a hybrid and combines the power of a six-cylinder inline 3.0-litre petrol engine with twin turbo, together with an electric drivetrain that together deliver a total of 394 CV. Its range in fully electric mode is 80 kilometres, and it achieves a fuel consumption of just 2.1 litres per 100 kilometres on average.

Audi e-tron
The first 100% electric car from Audi is the Audi e-tron, and it has everything one expects from a car of the brand, with the added appeal of being an electric-traction vehicle. Like all premium SUVs, it is elegant and not just a good-looking car, but it also offers excellent off-road handling and power ready to be used when needed. The engine on the front axle delivers 170 CV and the rear one 190 CV, providing a combined maximum output equivalent to 360 CV. This power can be increased to 408 CV at specific moments in Sport mode, in case an extra boost is needed.

Toyota RAV 4
A hybrid SUV is always a rewarding model, not only for its power but also for its performance, allowing lower consumption and more restrained polluting emissions than one with a 100% combustion engine. The Toyota RAV 4 is available in two versions, with one or two electric motors. The single-electric-motor version offers a power of 218 CV, while the model with an electric motor on both axles rises to 222 CV. This SUV looks more contemporary than the rest, with straighter lines and a more modern style.

Range Rover Evoque
The Range Rover Evoque is a robust car that exudes elegance and promises excellent crossover handling. An Range Rover Evoque does precisely that: it evokes bold terrain and an adventure to be lived, always keeping its composure, like the good British car it is. The entry level features a 150 CV engine, manual gearbox and 4×2 drive, priced at 40,000 euros. The Range Rover Evoque 4×4 with these specifications costs 50,850 euros, and there is talk of a 48 V mild-hybrid version that will reduce consumption and increase its performance.
