Bewatt Gulf #9: an e-bike that pays tribute to Gulf Oil's victories at Le Mans

Bewatt’s customisation levels, the Spanish brand specialising in e-bikes, electric scooters and other electric mobility solutions for enjoying sport, reach heights like this Gulf #9, a limited edition… and sold out.

You’ve probably already heard of Bewatt. The Spanish brand, which belongs to the multinational Walma Dynamic Group, has made a strong entrance into the e-bike sector with its proposals of electric bicycles for mountain and asphalt, while also offering a surprising range of electrified products for enjoying outdoor sport, from scooters to e-skates or even surfboards.

In each and every one of its products, Bewatt reflects its character as an innovative brand, which is reinforced through the Be Unique department, through which it offers astonishing levels of customisation. Some examples are the custom e-bikes for the Alquif mines, with accessories such as a made-to-measure rear luggage rack. Or the special edition of their Mountain Wolf e-MTB for Brand Lover Lynx.

E-bike in a limited edition of 9 units

But, without a doubt, my favourite is the Gulf #9, a limited series of the Bewatt Road RAM with a livery that pays homage to Gulf Oil’s victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, created together with Gulf Store and presented at the Jarama 4U event held last December. The colours are unmistakable, and the number 9 does not refer to the units of this limited edition, but to the race number of the GT 40 driven by Pedro Rodríguez and Lucien Bianchi in Gulf Oil’s first victory in the endurance race, in 1968.

The starting point for this spectacular e-bike is the Bewatt Urban Racoon, an electric road bicycle with a carbon fibre frame and flat handlebar, which features a Bafang M800 motor with 200 W of power and a 530 Wh battery that becomes the best ally when pedalling gets tough.

All the units of the GULF #9, which went on sale at a price of 9,600 euros, have already found owners. Although, as you know, at Bewatt, and through its customisation department, they are open to any suggestion you might have.
