BMW M5 gains power in a new visit to G-Power and gets a carbon fibre makeover

The G-POWER tuner has worked on the latest generation of the BMW M5 and has prepared a version that is powerful and ready to be more powerful and elegant

I’m going to tell you a secret you might not know. We love the personalised preparations carried out by workshops scattered across the world, dedicated body and soul to getting the most out of the models they work on. One of those companies is called G-Power and has a particular fondness for models from BMW. For example, the BMW M5, which is the model they have just presented.

The tuner has worked to shed weight from the model, replacing body panels with the fashionable lightweight material, carbon fibre. The main element replaced is the bonnet, designed and manufactured by the tuner itself, so it is intended to help cool the engine and extract the maximum performance from it.

But this is not the only component changed, as on the exterior we can find others that have been replaced with carbon fibre. The kidney-shaped grille has also been made from carbon fibre, as has the rear spoiler lip. A personalised touch comes in the form of 21-inch alloy wheels with the G-Power logo instead of the BMW one.

G-Power wants to reward the first five buyers of the model, so it will offer the carbon fibre bonnet and no speed limiter. It will also add a software update for the engine for €7,495, which represents a saving of €800 over the original price.

The engine upgrade that G-Power proposes for the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 block delivers 700 CV, an increase of 100 CV over the power the model it is based on offers. But some customers are not satisfied with these 700 CV, so the tuner will also offer an upgrade that reaches 800 CV.

To achieve this power, the engine’s ECU has been reworked, the turbochargers have been replaced, and the exhaust has been fitted with adapted catalytic converters and stainless steel. All of this comes at a cost of €20,000, a cost that does not include installation on the car. It is a price that seems high, but if you are demanding with your BMW M5, it won’t feel so hard to part with that money.
