BMW Series 2 Gran Coupé 2025: diesel and petrol engines, with up to 333 CV from €42,500

The BMW Series 2 Gran Coupé 2025 combines efficiency and performance, with engines ranging from the 150 CV 218d diesel to the 333 CV M235 xDrive

BMW has unveiled the second generation of the Series 2 Gran Coupé, a model that strengthens its position in the competitive premium compact segment, combining a more dynamic design, improvements in driving dynamics and a notable focus on digitalisation. The new Series 2 Gran Coupé, which will make its global debut in March 2025, promises to be an attractive entry point for those seeking the distinctive driving pleasure that defines the Bavarian brand.

The exterior design of the new BMW Series 2 Gran Coupé features an evolution with sharper, more elegant lines. Its length has increased slightly by 20 millimetres, reaching 4.54 metres, which, together with a greater height and a wheelbase of 2.67 metres, contributes to a more streamlined and sporty appearance. The BMW kidney grille has been redesigned with vertical and diagonal bars, while the adaptive LED headlights now feature arrow-shaped elements.

The top-of-the-range version, the BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé, stands out for its higher power and exclusive design elements, such as the M kidney grille, black exterior mirrors and four exhaust outlets. With a 333 CV engine, this model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, delivering performance that combines dynamism and comfort. It also includes advanced technology, such as specific dampers, M compound brakes and 19-inch alloy wheels, which reinforce its sporty character.

Innovative and digitalised interior

The cabin has been completely redesigned, standing out for its modern and youthful style. The BMW Curved Display, which integrates a 10.25-inch screen alongside a 10.7-inch one, offers an advanced digital experience while reducing the number of physical buttons. This new system, together with BMW Operating System 9, enables smoother and more personalised interaction, thanks to voice control and the new QuickSelect function for quick access to the vehicle’s features.

The seats have also received significant improvements. Options include sport seats and M sport seats with integrated headrests, heating, electric adjustment and a massage function. The standard leather-free interior uses recycled materials, such as the new Econeer upholstery made from PET, reinforcing BMW’s commitment to sustainability.

Technology and sustainability

The new Series 2 Gran Coupé has also made progress in sustainability. BMW has implemented more environmentally friendly production processes at its Leipzig plant, using on-site wind energy and recycled materials, which considerably reduces the vehicle’s carbon footprint. In addition, all versions of the model feature engines optimised to meet the Euro 6e standard, ensuring lower CO2 emissions.

The engine range is varied, highlighting the new four-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, available in the BMW 220d Gran Coupé and BMW 218d Gran Coupé versions, with outputs of up to 170 CV and 150 CV, respectively. In terms of consumption, the new engines offer outstanding efficiency, with an average of 5.2 l/100 km and emissions of between 120 and 119 g/km, according to WLTP.
