CUPRA goes international with the opening of its first dealership in Mexico
Mexico City has seen the opening of CUPRA’s first international dealership in the Colonia Roma, one of the most important neighborhoods in the city

CUPRA has become a brand with an ever-growing presence around the world, and it is not only looking at Spain and the European market. With SEAT’s already declared intention of turning all its models into high-performance variants and gradually setting aside the original brand while promoting CUPRA until it abandons its traditional name entirely (or almost entirely), the brand is now being positioned in the rest of the world.
And the first place in the world where a 100% CUPRA dealership has opened outside the domestic market is Mexico City. The Colonia Roma, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Mexican capital, has had this first CUPRA dealership since November.

The CUPRA dealership in Mexico City covers 300 square metres and has room for six cars of the brand, which will be on display to bring the Spanish brand’s offer closer to potential Mexican buyers. To do so, four salespeople and a sales manager have been trained, and they have all the information about the cars on display.
In addition to the display of cars at this dealership, there are six CUPRA Corners located in SEAT dealerships across the country. In these spaces, customers can also see the models under the CUPRA badge. This first CUPRA GARAGE, which is the name given to the brand’s point of sale, has been located in the Mexican capital for a reason: SEAT’s performance models enjoy great acceptance in the country.

During 2018, one in every three SEAT units sold in Mexico was a high-performance model under the CUPRA badge. This is the highest percentage in the entire world, which guarantees the good reception of the brand and its models in the country.
The opening of the CUPRA GARAGE was accompanied by the Mexican debut of the CUPRA Formentor and the CUPRA Ateca Limited Edition, of which only 1,999 units will be produced worldwide, and of which 51 units have been reserved for the Mexican market. The number of CUPRA cars sold during the first nine months of 2019 was 20,600 units, representing an increase of 78.9% over the same period of the previous year.
